Richard goes to Hanoi
On a recent trip to Hanoi, Richard caught up with his good friend and colleague Dr Minh Anh Tran, who is in charge of the optometry course at the Hanoi Medical University. While he was there Richard gave a lecture to the optometry students on paediatric contact lens fitting. When Richard first went to Vietnam in 2014 to do some teaching, the first optometry school in Vietnam had just opened in Ho Chi Minh City and there were about 20 graduates each year. Now, thanks to the outstanding efforts of people like Minh Anh, there are schools in both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi with a total of about 150 students graduating each year.
